Wayson Choy is a Canadian writer of Chinese origin famous for his "Jade Peony" novel written in 1995 and for the Trillium Book Award and the City of Vancouver Book Award. He was given the Honors of the Order of Canada in 2006 for his active involvement in the fights against AIDS, helping and teaching persons with a difficult life like abused women, runaways and homeless children.
